Another Bangladeshi teen shot dead by BSF

Within a span of eight days, Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel gunned down another Bangladeshi teen and injured two others including the teen's father along Baliadangi border in Thakurgaon early today, according to Bangladesh police.

The victim, identified as 15-year-old Joyanta Kumar Singha, was shot early today (September 9). The injured are Joyanta's father, Mahadev Kumar Singha, and Bangdu Mohammad, both from Fakir Bhita village in the same area.
Lt Col Tanjir Ahmed, the commandant of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)-50 Battalion in Thakurgaon, stated that efforts are being made to coordinate with the BSF to retrieve the body.
This incident follows the killing of 13-year-old Shwarna Das by BSF troops on September 1, in the Juri upazila of Moulvibazar district.
The Government of Bangladesh has expressed that such border killings are unacceptable and violate the provisions of the Joint Indo-Bangladesh Guidelines for Border Authorities, 1975. Bangladesh has called on India to cease these acts, conduct thorough investigations into all border-related deaths, hold those responsible accountable, and ensure justice is served.
