Pakistan army says 51 killed in India clashes last week

Pakistan's military has reported that a total of 51 people were killed during last week’s intense border clashes with India, marking the deadliest escalation between the two countries in recent decades.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, the army confirmed that 40 of the deceased were civilians, among them seven women and 15 children. An additional 121 civilians were reported injured during the hostilities.
The statement also noted that 11 military personnel from both the army and air force lost their lives, with 78 others sustaining injuries in the fighting.
This recent violence represents one of the most severe flare-ups in the long-standing tensions between the neighboring nuclear-armed states.
