Saudi Arabia keen to further strengthen ties with Bangladesh

Saudi Arabia has expressed a strong desire to further strengthen its already close and cordial relationship with Bangladesh.
The initiative came to light on July 14th, when the newly appointed Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh, Dr. Abdullah Zafer H Bin Abiyah, paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh's Foreign Adviser, Md. Touhid Hossain, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A press release from the ministry confirmed the meeting.
During their discussion, Foreign Adviser Hossain warmly welcomed Ambassador Bin Abiyah and assured him of Bangladesh's full support in his diplomatic endeavors. He also conveyed his deep satisfaction with the excellent bilateral relations that currently exist between the two "brotherly" nations.
In a separate engagement on the same day, Ambassador Bin Abiyah also held a courtesy call with Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam, further underscoring the importance of his new posting and the Kingdom's commitment to fostering stronger ties.
The relationship between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh holds significant importance for several reasons. Saudi Arabia is a major destination for Bangladeshi migrant workers, and their remittances play a vital role in Bangladesh's economy. Strong ties ensure the continued welfare and employment of these workers.
For Saudi Arabia, strengthening relations with Bangladesh aligns with its "Vision 2030" goals, which include diversifying its economy and building strategic partnerships with emerging economies. Bangladesh's growing economy and strategic location in South Asia make it an attractive partner.
