Trump Invites Modi to join Gaza Peace Panel

US President Donald Trump has formally invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to join a proposed international “Board of Peace” for Gaza, an initiative Washington says is aimed at ending the conflict and laying the groundwork for long-term stability in the Middle East.

The invitation was conveyed in a letter from Trump to Modi, which was shared publicly on Sunday by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor on his verified social media account. In the message, Trump described the move as a “historic and ambitious effort” to consolidate peace in Gaza and promote a new framework for addressing global conflicts.
According to the letter, the Board of Peace is envisioned as a new international body that would initially focus on Gaza, including oversight of post-war governance and coordination of international funding for reconstruction after extensive destruction from nearly two years of Israeli military operations. US officials have indicated the body could later be expanded to address other major conflicts worldwide.
Trump referenced his earlier announcement of a comprehensive plan to end the Gaza war, including a 20-point roadmap for peace across the Middle East. He noted that the UN Security Council had adopted Resolution 2803, which welcomed and endorsed key elements of that vision.
Calling the board “the most consequential international forum ever assembled,” Trump said it would bring together a select group of influential nations and leaders willing to take responsibility for ensuring lasting peace. He added that partner countries would be convened soon to move from planning to implementation.
India has not yet publicly responded to the invitation.
