Japan to continue tariff talks with US, says Premier Ishiba
Japan will continue its tariff talks with the US to reach a deal during the Group of Seven summit in Canada this June, Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said on Sunda.
"We will further advance discussions, with the G-7 summit in mind," Ishiba told reporters following the third round of ministerial tariff talks between Washington and Tokyo on Friday.
Ryosei Akazawa, Japan's top tariff negotiator, met with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and "strongly" urged the US to remove additional tariffs on his country.
