The death toll from the devastating earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan on Sunday night climbed to over 1,400, the interim-administration spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said on Tuesday.
At least 3,251 people have been injured across the four eastern provinces, while the quake destroyed over 8,000 houses, and Afghan Red Crescent said many more were still trapped while the rescue operations are still going on.
