US proud to partner with Bangladesh on most pressing issues: Blinken

United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken has congratulated Bangladeshis on 53 years of the South Asian country’s independence from Pakistan.

In his statement, Blinken expressed the pride of the United States in partnering with Bangladesh on numerous critical issues of today. These include the joint efforts in combating climate change, promoting economic development, addressing the Rohingya refugee crisis, contributing to global peacekeeping operations, and tackling global health challenges.
Highlighting the significance of the US-Bangladesh partnership, Blinken emphasized its role in fostering a free, open, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
Amidst the celebration of Bangladesh's independence, Blinken reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to strengthening democratic governance and upholding human rights, which are vital for Bangladesh's continued prosperity.
Blinken concluded his statement by extending warm wishes to all Bangladeshis on this auspicious day and expressed eagerness to further enhance the partnership and people-to-people ties between the United States and Bangladesh in the forthcoming year.
